What to Expect
A scenic circuit around the reservoir through mixed woodland with constant water views. The path passes through woodland to tall deer fences with a dedicated area for dog walkers. Quieter than eastern Dartmoor with a more intimate feel. Ice cream van often present on busy days.

Start from the dam car park and walk anti-clockwise for best views. The enclosed off-lead area is great for dogs who need to run. Toilets are south of the dam, open 7 days. No mobile signal so plan your route before arriving.

Several free car parks: main car parks at the dam (south end) and Norsworthy Bridge (north east end). Also parking at Burrator Arboretum, Discovery Centre, and Lowery Cross by B3212. Street parking allowed near dam structure.
Part of the reservoir has an enclosed off-lead dog walking area. Keep on lead around the rest of the area - you are on the moors with loose livestock. Dogs NOT permitted to swim in the reservoir (drinking water).
