Budleigh Salterton offers a classic Devon pebble beach with year-round dog access at both ends. The centre portion is dog-free May-September but dogs are welcome all year from the beach huts near Lime Kiln car park east to the River Otter mouth, and from the west end of the promenade westward.
What to Expect
A long pebble beach backed by red cliffs, a traditional seaside town, and access to dramatic coast paths. Less crowded than busier beaches. Dogs can run on the pebbles and splash in the sea at the permitted sections.

Head east from Lime Kiln car park towards the River Otter mouth for year-round dog access. West end of promenade also allows dogs all year. Check signage for exact boundaries. The coast path to Sidmouth is spectacular but challenging. Several dog-friendly cafes in town.
